My practice is geared towards massage in a clinical setting. Meaning, the main focus is on functional outcomes with measurable results. Each session is customized per the patients individual and medical needs with the patient taking an active participation in their massage sessions by following directions from the therapist, assisting in stretching/activating muscles, as well as, providing necessary feedback. I strive to help my patients find, and maintain, their body's own natural and functional state.
Sessions will include a combination of the modalities listed on this page, specifically chosen, to encourage the best possible outcome in accordance with our session goals. Prices are based on the time of session, not individual modalities. Hot stone and off- site chair massage, are the only services that have an additional surcharge. This is to accommodate the extra time it takes the therapist to prepare for these services.
Please plan on arriving 5-10 minutes early for each appointment. If you happen to arrive earlier than 10 minutes, I may still be with a patient but you are welcome to have a seat in the waiting area, just off the upstairs elevators. I will be with you as soon as I'm finished with my previous patient.
At the beginning of each session we will go over your intake forms, specifically looking at past and current medical history, perform any needed assessments, discuss treatment goals and address any questions or concerns you may have. The intake process if very important so please plan on an early arrive or it may result in shortened hands on time.
After the initial intake process has been complete, I will leave the room to wash my hands, at which time, the patient is instructed to undress to their level of comfort, and lay underneath the top sheet and blanket. Some people choose to stay fully dressed during their massage, while others choose to undress completely, and many variances in between. I encourage my patients to do whatever makes them the most comfortable, as I follow strict draping protocols; undraping only one area of the body at a time, as I work. I'm happy to work around any clothing you'd like to leave on but I will not move, unhook, or go underneath any article of clothing. Whatever clothing left on is considered a patient boundary and I will respect said boundaries.
*We cannot forgo the intake process, due to late arrival. The session time will be shorten to accommodate time.
I will knock before I enter the treatment room to start the massage session. At this time, I will ask if the table heater is at a comfortable setting and if you need anything before we begin. During your massage, please make sure to communicate your needs, such as pressure, temperature, level of comfort or any other feedback you might have. At the end of the massage, I will leave the room to wash my hands, allowing the patient time to fully redress. Once you're ready, you may open the treatment room door, at which time I will come back in to discuss my findings and suggestions for future sessions, answer any questions you may have, and then you will pay for your service and reschedule if you'd like.
The time for each session begins when I enter the treatment room and ends when I leave. The amount of 'hands on' time is based on the duration of time you scheduled for. * For example, if you scheduled for a 60 minute massage, you will receive 60 minutes of 'hands on' time. Please allot an extra 15-30 minutes in your schedule for your first appointment.
*Please reference the Late Arrival Policy in the new patient forms

A variety of the offered massage modalities are integrated into a massage session making it completely customized to best fit your needs. This amount of time is ideal for 3-4 areas of the body that need focus work.
This massage is a completely customized 90 minute session using a variety of massage modalities to best address your body's needs.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
A therapeutic cupping treatment involves placing cups, usually made of glass, plastic or silicone on the skin. By using a handheld pump, a vacuum is created, and when it is applied to the skin, the tissue is drawn up into the cup. This increases the blood flow, removes toxins, loosens the fascia or connective tissue, and is thought to stimulate healing. It is similar to the way deep tissue massage can be used to break up scar tissue and reduce pain. The cups are often placed on the back, neck, and shoulders or the site of pain. Cupping may cause temporary bruising and soreness, depending upon the degree of suction created by the vacuum and the level of internal stagnation.
Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Direct myofascial release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain.
Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With chair massage sessions being shorter than traditional massage, its convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
